At Bambino's we provide full and part time day care for children between 3 months and 5 years. During school holidays older brothers and sisters can join in with the activities in the holiday club which is in a separate unit within the grounds of the nursery. The nursery provides a secure home from home environment where the children are loved and cared for and given space to develop and grow.

We pride ourselves on our catering providing two cooked meals a day using fresh produce wherever possible. The children drink fresh milk every morning with a biscuit and enjoy juice and fruit in the afternoon.

All children are given a rest after lunch if they need it or just a quite time resting with books.

Babies

Babies all have their own routine and we try to follow their own patterns started at home. They are given one to one stimulation wherever possible and are treated as individuals with their own needs met. They interact with the older children once or twice during the day, which is usually an enjoyable time for both age groups. All the babies love music and stories and ahve lots of fresh air (weather permitting)

Other Children (over 2's)

We believe that a child's attitute to learning is formed in their first early years and we aim to make learning fun and exciting. Everything they do here has a purpose; even playing can develop many skills. Pre school education is a very imporart part of the programme and the older children follow more structured sessions, which include manipulative, perceptual and matching skills, as well as early maths, science and logical thinking. The phonics reading scheme helps the children to interpret written words by building up from individual sounds with the aid of pictures, actions, songs and work sheets. All of this provides them with a foundation for full time education and an invaluable experience for later years.

Groups of children work together on a different project in the craft room every week to display on the wall or to take home, this is always a messy but fun time. The children are encouraged to bring in things relevant to their topic and it is a great confidene boost when they see their work displayed on the wall. They also enjoy the use of different materials such as sand, water, clay and dough.

Imaginative and constructive play is encouraged through dressing up, puzzles, toys, cooking and of course free play outdoors; a chance to let off steam and make new friendss. Once a week we have a music, movement and drama session.

There are many story times throughout the day and a time for singing and games providing togetherness to proceed from here with confidence.

We teach the children care and consideration for others and things around them. We firmly believe in good manners and social graces and general acceptance of others whatever race, gender or religion and in equal opportunities for all our children. Unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with by explaining to the child what was unacceptable and why, in a kind but firm way.
